What will YOU say after experiencing
Brenda Jean - The Customer Care Teacher?

Brenda Jean!

Thank you for your service to us this year. I have been able to take away many great tools and have added them to my Customer Care toolbox. In fact, using your Customer Care tools enabled me to work with an upset parent, leaving them smiling and happy, so much so that an emailed was sent to central office about the quality of service.

Again, “Thank You” for your time and tools. You have helped make my work easier and my relationships with parents stronger.

Many Thanks,

Brenda Jean!

I just wanted to share with you how much I truly enjoyed your energy and words of encouragement on yesterday. I have never (I am being honest with you) and I do mean never been to a meeting that I have enjoyed so much. I would have really been disappointed to know through "hear say" how good it was and then to have missed it..WOW!!! I must say that the customer care info that you shared with us was beneficial to me at my church, with my son, and with relationships. I have chosen to be the 4th little pig!! I am also making the choice to be happy no matter what and in doing so I understand that there will be wolves, but I am determined after listening (not just hearing) to you that I am in control of my destiny and that If I don't expect or receive the negative It cannot penetrate me. My appearance will reflect my attitude and my attitude will reflect who I am inside and out.

Again thank you for sharing some much of yourself with me! May God continue to bless and keep you.

A message to Dr. Drew Watkins, Superintendent;

Just wanted to let you both know how much I appreciate the opportunity to attend the Customer Care meeting yesterday. I have heard so much about Brenda Jean Patrick and I finally had the opportunity to meet her. She is wonderful! I felt so great when I left yesterday. I cannot wait till the next meeting with her. I hope everyone in the District will get the opportunity to go to one of her workshops. Prosper ISD did a great thing having Brenda Jean do these workshops.

Thanks, Dr. Watkins for allowing me to finally attend one of Brenda Jean's workshops. I came away with so much and I plan on using it everyday not only at work but at home also.

Dear Brenda Jean;

I wanted to take a brief moment and say "Thank you!" for your presentation yesterday.

I want you to know that I come from almost 22 years in a retail sales and retail management environment. I have seen a great deal of customer service and "guest" service presentations over the years but have never felt as moved and as motivated as I did with your presentation yesterday. I have found myself very calloused, weary and generally aggravated of late in dealing with the staff and the campus teams as we have had numerous server crashes, e-mail disruptions and technological meltdowns over the last several weeks. Yesterday, I felt for the first time in a LONG time that I just needed to take a breath, try a little empathy and also try to walk in the shoes of those who don't understand why computers break down and how aggravating their world can be without that lifeline. In other words, I got the focus on care back and the focus on myself put away.

Again, many thanks for your time, energy and for helping me push the "reset" button that I have needed to press for a long time now. I am back to feeling vital again and now see that the "impossible" situations can be conquered with a focus on tact and creativity. My customers deserve that every day. As Napoleon said: "impossible is a word found only in the Dictionary of Fools..."

Thanks again!

Dear Ms. Brenda Jean Patrick:

Attending TESA was a valuable and enjoyable experience. You are one of the best instructors I have ever had. Your lessons helped me to grow as an educator and to improve my daily teaching practices. You modeled how to create a classroom environment that provides every student the opportunity to participate and succeed, to give timely and positive feedback to students, and to find the time during a busy day to show personal and genuine interest in my student's interests and experiences. I have sent an email to Dr. Martinez asking to include me in this stimulating staff development program. I will be more than happy to have the opportunity to hear your outstanding presentations again. TESA is a class worth taking again!

"I pray you have success, fun, and enjoy your new adventure as you take the step of faith to branch out on your own. I believe you will touch the heart of everyone God brings in your path and make an impact on their lives for the better.

Let me take this time to share one testimony that you had an impact on:

You have helped us to not only continue in the foster care ministry, but step out to offer support to other foster parents at my church. The first time I heard you speak at the foster care meeting in June 2006, I was frustrated with our first placement of 3 sibling boys who were diagnosed with ADHD (one of the twins), ODD (the other twin), and suicidal (the 8 year old). After four months, I had given my 30 day notice to have the boys removed from our home. We heard about the support group in Mesquite.

Then, I recalled the 30 day notice and agreed to get more advanced training. Two months later at the June meeting, I was encouraged to not be afraid to try new techniques, not to take it personally, and to believe that I was making a difference. We continued working with those boys for another six months until Jan. 07 when their parental rights were finally terminated and they were up for adoption. Today, each of those boys still call us occasionally. Two have asked if they can come visit for a weekend this summer. Since then, we have had over 22 kids in our home.

I remember your teaching style and motivational speaking and try to do the same when reading to tell the kids who come into our home and those I teach at my church. The message: Do not be afraid - Strive to make a difference."

Thanks,
Linda Gulley

"I see so many positive changes in myself, the other team members, the faculty and staff, and the community stemming from the work that you have done with us.

Through the winter the Beta Club spent many days creating a community cookbook.  It provided me with so many opportunities to talk with them and hear their views of this school.  They are excited about the changes that have been taking place over the past three years.  I spoke to them about the Customer Care program, listened to their ideas, talked to them about the importance of taking care of customers regardless of age or location. I was so impressed to hear the ways that they want to continue to give back to the community.

You will never know how truly grateful I am for what you have done for our school.  The spring before you began working with us, I was looking for a job outside of education.  At that time I thought the public education system was a lost cause.  I spent many hours in prayer searching for guidance as to what decision to make.  My prayers were answered with the addition of Mr. and Mrs. Smith to our district and with you and your guidance through this great program.  Thank you again for taking the time to assist us!"

Most Sincerely,
Stephanie

"Dear Brenda Jean,
This is Emily Howard and I was at the motivational speech you gave a Valley View ISD. I was the one who stood up and said that the "dusty" part was what stood out to me, because I am a first year teacher and will have to realize that there will be many dusty days and that a lot of the times things do not work out the way you want them to... It was a crazy first week of school, but I made it :) I thought I would let you know that your speech really meant a lot to me because I was so nervous about starting school. I keep your 12 choices on my filing cabinet and look at it every day. Thank you so much for what you do!"

"Thank you for sharing your talents with us, Brenda JEAN (as your mother would say). God has blessed you tremendously. I have heard you speak 4 times and each time is informative, motivating and hilarious. I look forward to the next time.

I am e-mailing to request your picture...in fact I am requesting not 1...not 2...but 3 pictures of you! My office buddies would like one also."

"Brenda Jean,
How marvelous your presentation was! You were the hit of the training, And I appreciate you so much! I am so sorry that the air was not working, but you stayed positive and I think you being positive helped the group to Be positive. They were even talking about you and some of your twelve sayings on Thursday. Again, thank you, you are an extraordinary speaker!"

"Brenda Jean,

I just wanted to thank you for your inspiring presentation at our Richardson RESSA Meeting yesterday. I truly enjoyed hearing, learning & laughing with you. It reminded me about the importance of attitude. I know it's in the planning and follow through. I hadn't thought about what I want others to walk away feeling. I have a positive attitude and try to always keep my SMILE even in phone conversations. I realize the importance of others feeling they're appreciated. I've had that as one of my anchors in my job because I'm aware of the influence of their job performance on my job. I periodically tell them I appreciate all they do for me. My attitude can change theirs and brighten their day as well.I'm now aware and DO know what I want people to say about me

May God bless you richly with many more successes in life. I thank Him that you are such a jewel and He uses your gift of gab and talents to spread encouragement. I felt encouraged and my fire was rekindled for service. Have a wonderful week...remembering 'It's all in the BAG!' "

Sincerely,

"You were great in ways that the pale old guys we've had before couldn't dream of --- I'm actually motivated! I present to college classes about ESL (Stranger in a Strange Land or Who Are These People and What Do They Want?) and have decided that I want to be you when I grow up.

Thanks for a wonderful presentation."

"The Customer Care Training that Brenda Jean Patrick brings to our campus is an invaluable tool. This is not just a training that touches you today and is forgotten tomorrow, this is a way of performing on a daily basis. This training promotes team building with the customer as the focus. The ability to energize office personnel while creating a long term change of behaviors and attitudes is something that is unique and refreshing in this program. I would advocate this to any team that is looking for true growth and direction."

"I have been with Allen ISD going on 22 years. Of all the speakers we have had in the past you are always the one that keeps everyone's attention, make them laugh, learn something and you really want to take your tips back to the office. You are so very honest and up front and that appeals to me and others.

Thanks so much for coming to Allen and speaking. The lunch was great but your seminar was so much better."

"A Paradigm Shift...is what you caused me to have Tuesday after I visited with you at the end of the HOPE meeting. You totally freaked me out, in a good way! This is what I needed in order to see things differently. Also, in that “ten minute” moment, you galvanized what the hell it is I am doing on the planet and sent me reeling in exponential possibilities. Powerful!!
...and thanks!"

"Awesome, captivating and a buffet for thought! Every teacher should hear that kind of inspiring dialogue twice a year. My thoughts gathered from your seminar at Spruce were:
1) Don't fear changes,
2) Stay opened-minded,
3) Create the kind of classroom I'd desire with teachable challenges that may be bold and daring,
4) Do not let whiners or wolves keep me from enjoying my "fudge" or stealing my joy.

If wishing could make it so I'd love to hear you again! Our leaders ought to invite you and engage you to come again soon. Your energy was off the hook at 4 o'clock! I was inspired."

I wanted to thank you for the wonderful work you do. You are not only an incredible speaker, but a life-changer. I was privileged to be able to hear you speak at a seminar you did called "The Fourth Little Pig." The day before attending, I had just lost a close family friend. I just wanted to curl up in my bed and cry all day, but I knew that I was signed up to go to that session.

I was not prepared for what I was in store for that day. Wow... Wow... Wow. Your voice... your words... your life... certainly touched mine. I actually had to step out for a breif moment when you were talking about the miracle that happened to your grand-daughter. I could not stop the tears. I knew at that moment that I was meant to hear you speak that day. I knew that God placed me there to hear your powerful message.

I know you probably receive an enormous amount of emails and letters from people who have seen you, but I wanted to email you anyway. I would not feel right not thanking you.

If I don't get to see or hear from you again, I will still feel very privileged. The world is so big, so enormous. There are millions and millions of people out there who need hope... who need love... and who need someone to help them start again. Not everyone will get the chance to meet Brenda Jean Patrick. I am very blessed and honored to say that I had that chance.

So thank you Brenda Jean Patrick... thank you for being you!

Dear Brenda Jean,
We had a super staff development day at Bill Bates Ranch. We had a total of 515 participants. Thank you very much for arranging your schedule to come present for us. You were definitely the highlight of the day. I had a teacher/coach who had taught in Greenville for 20 years and retired/rehired in Caddo tell me he had never heard you before. I couldn’t believe it! But he said he would never forget you. He thought you were great! He has been around a long time and it takes a lot to impress him, but you – superwoman – did the job! He said that was the best staff development day he had ever attended! Yeah! Thank you so much for coming. You made the day very special.
